Lake Como - E bella!

Looking out our windows at the Villa Maria in Lierna, I can see limestone cliffs rising to one side and hazy sunlight shining over Lake Como. E` bella!

We'd driven about 3.5 hours today to arrive, most of it on the autostrada and so not too bad, but the last hour was on the small road that leads through heavily populated areas from near Bergamo to Lake Como. LOTS of traffic, cars, motorcycles, bikes, pedestrians including schoolchildren going home... very busy and stressful, especially for Peter who had to rest...

We did, however, manage to get another pizza, our third so far and all not up to our snobby standards for thin crust and not-too-cheesy. Regardless, the view from the pizzeria was great and the gelato we had for dessert left us feeling quite satisfied. It's really kind of hard to feel less than well-satisfied when what you see is...

Will endeavor to fill in the blanks... Bavaria, Slovenia, Croatia and the Venice area in the next day or so. Hope all is well with you! Buona sera!
