Cataluña - Our stay in Les Cabanyes

We arrived in Les Cabanyes, a very small town near Vilafranca del Penedes, 30 miles west of Barcelona, on Saturday. As I sit here writing, I'm gazing out the window of our apartment at rolling hills covered in grapevines, spotted here and there with small villages and wineries, against a backdrop of mountains in the distance. It smells of freshly turned earth, spring flowers and citrus blossoms.

Each day, we get up and walk down the narrow main street to get dos cafes largos, uno solo y uno con leche. And, of course, some kind of sweet... today was chocolate croissant and cream croissant. After breakfast, we head out to see some of the lovely sights that surround us.

Yesterday, we drove up through the vineyards and pine forests to the tiny village of Font Rubi. Beautiful scenery and I found my ideal Catalunyan fixer.
